What is Overeaters Recovery Companion?+

A mobile app for people in or considering Overeaters Anonymous. Provides 12-step lessons, OA speaker shares, member-story readings, a personal food plan, daily inventory (Step 10), gratitude lists, and a meeting finder. Anonymous and on-device.

Is this an official OA app?+

No. This is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with Overeaters Anonymous, Inc. or any OA service body. It's built independently by fellows in recovery as a tool to support members between meetings.

Is my data private?+

Yes. The app is fully anonymous — no signup, no account. Your journal entries, food plan, abstinence date, and recovery profile live on your device only. We never see them. Resetting the app or deleting it removes everything; there is no cloud copy.

Is it free?+

Core tools (finding meetings, reading the Big Book, browsing some member stories) are free. Premium unlocks the full 12-step curriculum, the audio library of speaker shares, the journaling tools, and unlimited food plan items. You can try monthly with a 3-day free trial, or pay yearly.

Does it replace meetings or sponsorship?+

No, and it's not designed to. It's a companion between meetings — a way to keep working the program when you can't get to a meeting or call your sponsor. We strongly encourage attending meetings (in-person or online) and finding a sponsor — the meeting finder in the app is the fastest way to start.

Does the AI know my food plan?+

There's no AI in the app. Earlier versions had an AI chat; we removed it. The features that remain are all human-curated content (lessons, audio, readings) and your own private journaling.
