Last updated: May 29, 2026

Agreement to these terms

By downloading or using any app published under Twelve Step (twelvestep.app), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app.

Independent apps — not affiliated with any fellowship

Our apps are independently developed tools built by people in recovery, for people in recovery. They are not official publications, endorsed products, or approved resources of any 12-step fellowship or its governing body. Specifically, we have no affiliation with:

We are not endorsed by, sponsored by, associated with, or in any way officially connected with any of the organizations listed above or their subsidiaries or affiliates. All fellowship names, program references, and step materials are used for identification and educational purposes only.

Not a medical or therapeutic service

Our apps are peer-support tools, not medical, psychiatric, or therapeutic services. We are not licensed counselors, therapists, or healthcare providers. Content in the apps reflects the lived experience of recovering fellows and publicly available 12-step program materials. Nothing in the apps constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, substance use emergency, or thoughts of self-harm, please contact a qualified healthcare provider or emergency service immediately. In the US, you can call or text 988(Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911.

Subscriptions and billing

Some features are available only with a premium subscription. Subscriptions are billed as auto-renewing monthly or yearly plans through your Apple ID. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase and renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

Free trials, where offered, automatically convert to paid subscriptions at the end of the trial unless cancelled beforehand. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — we do not issue refunds for the current period. If you believe a charge was made in error, Apple's standard refund process applies. You can manage and cancel subscriptions at any time in your Apple ID account settings.

What the apps provide

Access to features as described in each app's App Store listing — which may include step-work curricula, audio libraries, meeting finders, journaling tools, sobriety trackers, and recovery inventories. We may update, add, or remove features over time. We do not guarantee any specific feature will remain available indefinitely.

Acceptable use

Intellectual property

The apps, their design, original content, and code are owned by or licensed to Twelve Step. Certain content — such as the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions adapted for each fellowship — is sourced from publicly available program materials and is used for educational, non-commercial recovery support purposes.

Disclaimer of warranties

The apps are provided "as is" without any warranties — express or implied — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Twelve Step and its developers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the apps. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid in subscription fees in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the apps after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
